Update and / or updall

Thank you both for this explanation.
Still a question:
I want to updall <database.nsf> -F <viewname> a database every 30 minutes, by a server program document.
Therefore I will change the updatefrequency of the indexproperties of the database to Scheduled.
Does this not interfere with the server's update task?
